An error occurred when copying previous release

You may see the following error during the file transfer stage of deployment:

An error occurred when copying previous release [Exit code: 1 - cp: cannot stat '/previous/release/path': No such file or directory ]

This likely means the previous release has been deleted or no longer exists.

It's worth noting that both SSH and SFTP are required for the file upload process, as well as the zero downtime directory setup, so you’ll need to check that the same path is accessible under both protocols via the same user/group.
